This is an amazing trip through one year of Nikki's crazy, strung out life as told by Nikki through a diary he kept. The diary entries are interspersed with commentary by Nikki, his bandmates and others that knew him at the time.

I've listened to the album and watched the movie. This book is an excellent companion to the movie. BTW, I bought this book a couple years ago, but it just came to the top of my reading list.
